FAQ Snow Chains
According to the dealer/manual, I am not allowed to install standard snow chains. Do you have a solution for that?
It may occur that your vehicle manual states that you are not allowed to install standard snow chains due to limited space in the wheel arch. The solution is front-fitting snow chains. These special snow chains are mounted only on the tread of the tire and not behind the tire, and they are very easy to attach to one of the wheel nuts.
Which size snow chains do I need?
If you wish to rent snow chains, please provide the vehicle details and tire size as requested during your reservation. We will then ensure that the correct size is prepared for you.
What is a hybrid snow chain?
The Rud Hybrid is a chain that features a metal ladder track on the tread but is mounted as easily as a snow sock. Approved for use in all countries!
On which wheels should I install the snow chains?
Snow chains are installed on the driven wheels; these are usually the front wheels, but for BMW and Mercedes, typically the rear wheels. If you drive a 4x4, they are generally installed on the front wheels.
Is the AutoSock the same as a standard snow chain?
No, the AutoSock is a traction aid. It is NOT a replacement for snow chains.
In the Netherlands it is forbidden to use snow chains. Am I allowed to use the AutoSock?
Yes, the AutoSock does not damage the road surface and is therefore permitted for use.
