General rental questions

How do I know if the items I need are in stock?

In our central warehouse in Breda we keep a very large stock, and our installation partners keep a base stock. If you reserve in time (preferably at least a week in advance), we will make sure your items are available at your desired location. Should we be unable to help you, you will be informed immediately after making your reservation, including possible alternatives.
We can also help with last-minute reservations in many cases!

Will the rented items be installed for me?

Yes, that is part of our service!

Can the roof box I rent from Topspace be insured?

No, that is technically not possible; for damage resulting from theft you rely on your travel insurance (please check this), and for damage caused in traffic on your car insurance.

When do I receive multi-day discount?

If you rent for more than 10 days, you receive multi-day discount. Days 11 to 15 receive 35% discount. From day 16 you receive no less than 70% discount; the first 10 days are always charged at the daily rate.
Example: You rent a Thule XXL for 18 days: The cost is 10 × €9.75, 5 × €4.88 and 3 × €2.44.

I want my roof box installed on Saturday, but the installation location is not open. What now?

You can pick up, return, have installed and have removed the rented items only during the opening hours of the location. Please check the overview of our installation locations to see whether another location in your area is open. If not, you can rent from Friday and return on Monday.

How does the rental process work?

In short, the following happens:

  1. You make a reservation via the reservation form
  2. You receive a confirmation by e-mail or post including payment instructions;
  3. You make the payment via bank transfer or iDEAL;
  4. The day before the rental period you are called by a Topspace employee to schedule the installation appointment;
  5. The rented items are installed;
  6. You return the rented items (without appointment) after your holiday;
  7. The deposit is refunded (quickly)

Can I rent the items just for a weekend?

That is possible, but you will pay for 8 days as that is the minimum rental period.

How long in advance should I reserve/order?

As soon as you know you need items, preferably as far in advance of your holiday as possible. Two weeks in advance is always feasible for us. The longer you wait, the higher the risk we cannot help you or not in your desired region.

If I reserve, am I guaranteed the item will be available at the time of rental?

Yes, you always receive a reservation confirmation. If for any reason we cannot help you, we will call you immediately (within one day of the reservation).

Is there a security deposit?

Yes, you pay a deposit of €100. Deposits are refunded on Wednesdays to the bank account from which your (iDEAL) payment was made.

How do I count the number of rental days?

Your rental period runs from the day of pick-up through the day of return. You may subtract one day when both pick-up and return days fall on weekdays.
